Wednesday, 24th -- I picked up a free toilet from Freecycle.  Now, I can save about $150 off the toilet repair!

Thursday, 25th -- No more choir rehearsals!  I stayed home from shire meeting so I could veg out and watch my favorite TV show Person of Interest, which I haven't seen in over a month!  I fell asleep in the easy chair. :(

Earlier this week, my wife and I defrosted the upstairs freezer (the basement chest freezer doesn't need defrosting). In the back, we found a five year old turkey leg. We're home safe and sound. Electricity, gas, water, internet, fridge, freezers, stove, oven all working. I got up this AM, took a shower, got dressed for work, came downstairs to find a phone message from my boss saying not to come in because the center was closed. Friday -- We have to clock in at 8AM.  The company picnic started at noon. Half the staff was at the bingo hall decorating.  The other half didn't feel like working.  My job is to compile database reports based on requests. Saturday we drove down to Panaman (just shy of the PA border) to pick up our annual meat order from the butcher. Normally,
we pick it up at the farmer's, but on the weekend that was originally scheduled for that, we went to Pax Interruptus to see a close friend of ours get inducted into the Order of the Laurel.  It was a pleasant ride thru beautiful ( Read more... )

Wait. What. What did the title say?  Seriously.  We're cleaning out our freezer because the next beef pickup is Saturday.  There is literally enough beef on these things for them to be a meal just by themselves.  So, I BBQ'd one on the grill.  It was wonderful ( Read more... )

Didn't get as much done on the mudroom floor  yesterday as I would have liked, heat was just too much.  However, by my calculations, if I can get this much done every day this week, the new mudroom floor will be finished by Saturday.

Stayed in bed until noon (you might say we made our own fireworks. :D)  I spent the afternoon replacing the mudroom floor.  Last fall, portions of the mudroom floor were rotting out and I ripped out the flooring and salvaged the useful lumber.  Then the snow fell and I had to let the project go for awhile.  I was hoping to complete the job in one ( Read more... )
